:O Wow, first place? Thanks, everyone. You're too kind.

My submission for November's :iconvisionaryassassins: contest. We were to depict what we think the Codex contains. I had no idea when I got started, so I decided just to be funny and make it Altair's scrapbook of the events of Assassin's Creed.

You can click on the buttons to maneuver through the pages, and you can click on the pickpocketed letters to enlarge and read them.

Thanks very much. :) The images were made in Photoshop. All the maps and stuff were scanned in from the player's guide. And the animation was done in Macromedia Flash.

Yep. I placed first in this contest. Probably just because it was the first Flash animation ever submitted to the club. :P My later flash, The Other Son [link] came in third.

Alright, but it also has to do with your skill that you won first place. Anyway I'll check out the other one.

Was this made using any knowledge gained from Assassin's Creed Bloodlines on the PSP

Nope. I don't have a PSP, and I haven't played Bloodlines. It was really sort of a joke...I had no idea what the Codex was at the time, so I just decided to make it a scrapbook of the first game. :P

Well the Codex is like super deep. It's Altair's story and the legacy of Assassin's after he kills the old guys in AC1 (forgot his name) It's also a map that details the locations of secret vaults that I shall not spoil for you what they are.
It also explains the things that Altair actually did with the Apple of Eden.

The detail in this is amazing! Every little thing made it look as if it was something that was actually in the game! And I love the little pieces of writing from the targets. :D Great job, and good luck in the contest! :cookie:

Thanks for the comment and fave. Good luck to you as well. Your entry is neat because it shows the Codex from both Altair and Ezio's point of view.

This makes me remember how much fun I had playing the game.
Those last words, at the end almost made me cry. Its like a goodbye to the readers and game players.
I miss Assassins Creed 1. :(
Very nice stories, have a true feeling to them!

Thank you for commenting and faving. *rueyeet said in her comment that this would probably bring back memories for people who had played the game (having not done so herself), and it looks like she was right. =P

I didn't even think of the last page being like a farewell to AC1 now that AC2 is out...but now that you mention it, I could see that. How cool of you to notice it. :XD:

Stories? You mean the letters? They're all copied word for word from the letters that you pickpocket in the game. So, it figures they'd have a true feeling to them. ;)

She was very right. :) Assassins Creed was the best game I ever played, that one fact I truly know. :D

Thank you~ =P Its actually a bit sad... Altair was a very interesting person, and its strange to know that he died, one way or another. But whats the most upseting, is that we dont know how the story ended. Did he live a happy life, or was he killed?.. :\

They are?... Wow, I didnt think of that. :D I played the game on PC, so there wasnt an option to read those letters. :(

Assassin's Creed is the first game in a long time I got totally absorbed in. Was there any one part of the game you really got into? I'll tell you mine. ;)

Oh, really? If you go to the start menu during a mission and look at Memories, it'll show you, like, all the pickpockets and stuff you've completed. Some of them will have attachments you can view, including letters written by/to/about your targets. That's not in the PC version? Bummer. They're not vital to the storyline, but they do add some flavor to it.

Ah, there was :D When Altair fianlly started to understand his mistakes, and apologized to Malik. I forgot my world, I was in theirs. God, I sound so creepy. ^^;
And yours? :)

Seriously? Ill have to check that out. Seems very interesting.

That was a ridiculously sweet moment. Altair sure did a lot of maturing from beginning to end, huh?

My favorite part--morbid though it is--has to be the Acre hospital. It was just one of those right place, right time situations when I first played it. It was after midnight, dark out, and quiet, which made everything on the screen even creepier. I hadn't figured out yet that you can change the camera angle during glitches in cutscenes, so when the escaped patient got his legs broken, it didn't change shots a split second before the fact. So from where Altair was standing I got a graphic view of it, and it made me cringe. Then, when I was walking through the hospital with the scholars, seeing all these mindless patients wandering around and hearing the ambient sound track of their screams, I got the chills. You could definitely understand why that patient thought their souls had been stolen. When I fought Garnier (being too amateurish by this point to use a stealth assassination) I used a Grab and Throw, then when the Hidden Blade made its mark, I proclaimed "Take that, you sick f#@%!"

I've actually even had nightmares about that scene. :P

Yes, Im pretty fond of him because of that. Not everyone can aknowledge their mistakes. :)

Haha, that scene WAS pretty freaky :D At first, I actually thought it was going to be something like that. I was right. :o BUT IT WAS SCARIER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. The part when the patient got his legs broken made me shiver. I have broken a leg before so I know how bad it hurts. :/ And they did it with force, the BONES CRACKED. Oh god...
Yes, it indeed was a very unpleasant, but interesting part of the game. :)

And then they dragged him. Ow? :O I thought when Garnier said "You should not have done that" that he was just going to kill the patient (whose name is Rashid in my fanfic). Not so fortunate.
